In
Game 1 Pedro Martinez and the Padres shut down the Rockies #1 offense to 3 runs on 7 hits.
Game 2 looked to be much of the same as Mark Prior gave up just 1 run and 7 hits over 8 innings, then the bullpen came in. Steve Reed promptly gave up a hit and walked a batter to put 2 runners on, Keith Foulke was brought in to shut the door when Jacque Jones hit a 3 run homer to tie it at 4, then the wheels came off and Colorado scored 5 more in the 10th to win Game 2.
Game 3 and
Game 4 would not even be funny as San Diego malested Colorado pitching for 27 runs over the 2 games. San Diego won game 3, 13-5 and game 4 14-1.
Game 5 would almost a repeat story of Game 2 as the San Diego bullpen gave up a walk off homer to Edgar Martinez in the bottom of the 10th to bring the series to 3-2.
Game 6 would be the decisive game finishing the series as they done before by beating Colorado 10-3 and sending San Diego to the World Series to take on the Angels! San Diego scored 50 runs over the 6 games giving up 25 runs!
