In Game 1, the Braves came out with a vengance knocking the Rockies pitching for 15 runs on 17 hits in Colorado taking a 1-0 lead in the series. Game 2 would prove to go in the other direction as it was the Rockies this time dropping in 8 runs on 18 hits to even the series 1-1. Game 3 in Atlanta would be a quick game with the Rockies being the benifactor of a couple of 2 run home runs by Rafael Palmeiro and League MVP Jeff Kent. The Rockies took Game 3 5-3. In Game 4, the Braves would take serious advantage of 3 Colorado miscues by scoring 4 unearned runs including the game winner in the bottom of the 9th inning beating Colorado to tie the series at 2 with a 5-4 victory. Nothing really exciting happened in Game 5 but the Rockies did win 5-3 to send the series back to Colorado. In what would be the final game of the series, the Rockies muscled up again with 5 more home runs. Courtesy of a pair from Jacque Jones and Garrett Anderson each. The Rockies take the game and the series and will face the team they butted heads with all season for the National League title. The Padres/Rockies series will be played head to head Wednesday evening. Winner of this series will play the winner of the Angels/Royals for the chance at the first ever America's League Baseball Championship!
