In Games 1 & 2, it looked as if the Red Sox were going to go for the sweep as they shut out the Angels in both games,
5-0 &
3-0. The Angels came back strong in Games 3, 4 and 5. In Game 4 the Angels gave a little bit of what they received in the first couple of games by blanking the Sox on 4 hits with a great pitching performance by Randy Johnson. The Angels won
6-0. Boston in a must win situation in Game 6, score 5 times in the bottom of the 8th to take 7-4 lead and ultimately
winning sending it to a decisive Game 7. The Sox took an early first inning 1-0 lead on a sac fly by Hidalgo but that lead didnt last 2 batters as Hunter lead off the 2nd with a single and Troy Glaus followed with a 2 run home run. The Angels never lost the lead again taking the game
7-5 and the series 4-3. The Angels will take on the Royals in the American League Champion Series to take place this weekend!
