Rules for America's Baseball League:

2004 Season

The Commissioners Office will be headed up by Dan Bayless(Commissioner) and Jarrod Sinclair(Chief Stats Analyst).

The League will consist of 14 Teams.

Each team will draft 35 players to meet playing requirements. Each manager will have an active roster of 30 players at all times, also meeting playing requirements. The remaining players on a team will be designated to that teams farm team.

The Playoffs for the 2004 season will consist of the 2 Division winning teams and the teams in 2^nd and 3^rd place in each division. The 2^nd place team will play the 3^rd place team in a best 4 out of 7 games. The winner of this series will play the Division Champion in a best 4 out of 7 series. The winner of the Division Championships will meet in the ABL World Series which will also be a best 4 out of 7 series. The winner being crowned as LEAGUE CHAMPION for the 2004 season. 

Trades:

All trade agreements are to be sent to the Commissioners e-mail address. The Commissioner will in return have it listed on the site and there will be a 48 hour window for ANY manager to raise an objection to the proposed trade. (The reason for this is to be sure ALL trades are fair and equitable.) Any trade issue will be resolved by a MAJORITY vote of all managers.

The Commissioners Office will NOT act as an advisory on any potential trades as they are also managers in the league.

Any trades involving future draft picks is limited to draft picks from the first 3 rounds in the next draft.      

Issues:

Any other issues involving the league are to be directed to the Commissioners e-mail address. The Commissioner will then send an e-mail to all managers addressing the issue. The issue(s) will then be resolved by a MAJORITY vote of all managers.

Stadium/Team Name:

Cannot be changed during the current season. Any change in stadium/team name is to be directed to the Commissioner by trade deadline.

2005 Season:

League will be open to expansion up to 20 teams. Any expansion will be done in an even count, i.e., we add either 2, 4, 6 or 8 teams.

All existing teams maintain their stadium/team name.

The existing teams will be able to protect 10 players from their roster and the remaining will be made available to the expansion draft. No team can have more than 4 players selected in the expansion draft.

If the league expands to 16 teams, the League will be reformatted into 2 Conferences with 2 Divisions of 4 teams each.

The playoffs will then consist of the 4 Divisional winners and the next 2 best records in each Conference.
